Good Morning Beautiful People! The Lord is good and His mercy endures forever! We are coming to the close of August, but before it closes I wanted to show you this amazing song!
Now, this song is an absolute banger with its UK drill beats, but the message is clear: salvation is key!
Salvation by Abxl (pronounced Abel) and LT (Living Testimony) starts highlighting what being saved by Jesus Christ does for one’s life. The lyrics:
I’ve been saved so I walk and talk in a different manner,
The Devil can’t beef me, it’s easy, Jehovah Nissi God is my banner
Immediately, when we are saved by God, our whole life has changed! (yes it did!) We speak differently, talk differently; our whole life orients to the will of God. Just like in Exodus 17:15-16 KJV, it says, “And Moses built an altar, and called the name of it Jehovah Nissi: For he said, Because the Lord hath sworn that the Lord will have war with the Amalek from generation to generation.”
Let’s break this down. Jehovah Nissi means God is my banner, and during the times of Moses, a banner signified a focal point for battle to the soldiers. It not only instilled hope to the soldiers in the army, but it was a warning to the enemy that defeat was coming!
Did you catch it?
Salvation frees us from the bondage of sin. The weights of life are lifted and we know that God is protecting us. Psalm 121:7 says, “The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul.”
As the song progresses, both artists give their shared testimonies of faith and encouragement for others to know God. They present their longing after God and the realization that Jesus is the lover of their soul and knows what’s best.
Jesus, touch me. I know you’re protecting me, I’m not scared of the enemy.
Jesus, touch me. I wannabe saved, great, walk on the path you paved.
Overall, I can’t help but to turn the pages of Bible to Psalm 27:1 as this song plays:
The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
So who will you turn to in this season? I encourage you to turn your life to Christ and cast your cares on Him, because He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7). And if you’re ready to take that step, pray this prayer:
God, I repent for the sins that I have done, please forgive me and make me whole. I believe that you sent your son, Jesus, to die on the cross for my sins, and that you raised him up so that I could live again. I accept and receive the Holy Spirit in my life knowing that I am now forever changed. Thank you God for loving me. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
