Welcome to 2021! A new year and for some a fresh start. The air of the new day always hits different, but mostly because it shows that God’s mercy has showed up yet again in our life. Although this previous year seemed never-ending, I am yet expecting more in God.
My grandmother would always say, “Go with expectation and watch what happens”. So, I am applying that to this year. Whether it be growth spiritually, mentally, financially, etc., I expect growth in Jesus’ Name. Not just for me, but for you too. I pray that we all go into 2021 with expectations, not worse, but for whatever God has for us, which is always better.
As I was reading Psalm 33, the last few verses spoke to me.
18 But the Lord watches over those who fear him,
those who rely on his unfailing love.
19 He rescues them from death
and keeps them alive in times of famine.
20 We put our hope in the Lord.
He is our help and our shield.
21 In him our hearts rejoice,
for we trust in his holy name.
22 Let your unfailing love surround us, Lord,
for our hope is in you alone.
Read that again.
God has brought you too far to just leave you here alone. He has taken care of you all of 2020 and now here you are in 2021. How can we not expect Him to do more if we trust in Him!
Let this be reminder that in this new season, this time, don’t lose faith in God. Keep fighting the good fight of faith and endure. God is doing something big even now, and you don’t want to miss it.
